Special Offerings

When we tasted the 2005 vintage Bordeaux, we realized, like everyone else, that this vintage was something special. We also realized that this was the most expensive vintage to date and that there probably would be a lot of people that may not get a chance to taste such remarkable wines. How to rectify this situation?

We talked to several of our Bordeaux negociants and found that there were ample supplies, in France, of 2005 Petit Bordeaux available. Petit Bordeaux are those wines that are estate grown in the same appellations as their more expensive brethren, but don't have the status of being classified. Consequently, they are usually very affordable, even in vintages like 2005. We placed an order for over 11,000 cases of 2005 Bordeaux and have sold through those wines, emphasizing the fact that people really do appreciate the tremendous price to quality ratio. Since then, we have ordered more '05s and have expanded our selection to some of the more recent vintages. The newer selections all went through the rigorous criteria that the 2005s did originally in order to be considered for our Petit Bordeaux program.
