We went to Bordeaux in the latter part of March and the first part of April. To say the weather was terrible would be an understatement, but that turned out to be just one of our concerns. | When we tasted the 2005 vintage Bordeaux, we realized, like everyone else, that this vintage was something special. We also realized that this was the most expensive vintage to date and that there probably would be a lot of people that may not get a chance to taste such remarkable wines. One of the great things about summer is all of the fresh fruit that is available. This is especially true here in Texas, where the assortment is probably one of the best in the country. Here is another way to enjoy fresh fruit, this being one that can be savored year around.
Naturally, being in the wine business, we think of France in terms of grapes, but there is a lot of other fruit grown there. Peaches, as it turns out, is one of the most prevalent. From some of the best peach orchards in France comes this delightful sparkling wine. It tastes just like fresh peaches and it's really a fun experience to drink. Enjoy it in the afternoon instead of your regular refreshment and you'll never want to go back to what you were drinking. Not too sweet, not too dry, just like a real peach.
