Our Favorite
Z-52 Zinfandel Lodi
In the stable of Z-52 Zinfandels, none are priced as good as this one. Not only that, this particular Zinfandel won a silver medal at the recent Dallas Morning News Wine Competition. The Lodi appellation is a warm region, bordering on hot, which seems to suit the Zinfandel grape perfectly. This wine is rich and lush, with fully ripened tannins and fruit. Extremely well balanced and harmonious, it is hard to believe that it is on sale for such a low price.
This is a red wine lovers wine, as it can be enjoyed with all red meats cooked on the grill and with pastas with a marinara sauce. It would be especially good with game, so it may be one to remember for later this year. Try it with steak tar-tar and you'll think you're in heaven.
